Go Figure! workshops provide more than information. A workshop engages math instructors in a team building experience, where staff engage in fun, multifaceted projects that require creativity, teamwork, and of course, math! Staff work in teams to launch projectiles, test food, build metal structures, and design highways on topographic maps.
Schools or Districts who are motivated to bring a Project Based Learning approach to middle and secondary math classes can use these workshops as a springboard to a new model for mathematic instruction. This is particulary helpful for those who struggle to find an approach that offers the engagement and creativity that PBL offers, while still teaching the scope of math skills required in a standard math curriculum.
